About Us

Friendly Meeple(FM) is a local group of Meeple in the Cedar Valley who enjoy playing a variety of board games! FM host monthly gathering at various locations bringing along a selection of games from the FM Library for all to play. Everyone is welcome at FM gathering and we encourage you to bring your current favorite game or a game you would like to learn to play, we have several Meeple who would be happy to help learn and teach the game!

Friendly Meeple was created in the Summer of 2015 by the Dixon family, who were looking to meet others in the Waverly area who also had an interest in playing board games creating a wonderful community of gamers, we’ve come to call our Meeple! In March of 2022 the Dixons handed over the reins to the Beoughers, who have happily been carrying on the tradition of being a family-friendly game group for the Cedar Valley!

Friendly Meeples goal is continue to have a community of gamers who enjoy gathering to play, learn and teach board games to all fellow Meeples a few times a month.

Friendly Meeple has created a library of games to take to our board game events. We also enjoy working with other organizations to bring our library of games to events in the Community!

One of our favorite events to support and attend every year is Rod Con, where we host the board game area for attendees to play board games. Rod Con is a free family-friendly event held every spring at Rod Library on the University of Northern Iowa campus in Cedar Falls, IA!
